Optimization Of RV Reducer Rigidity To Resolve Robot Joint Jitter Issues

Publish Time: 2025-09-02

Our company supplies RV reducers to AtomRobot. In high-speed handling scenarios, AtomRobot reported minor joint jitter during abrupt starts and stops, which affected positioning accuracy.

Analysis revealed that the primary cause was insufficient rigidity of the RV reducer during high-torque instantaneous responses. Our technical team implemented a three-phase improvement plan:

1. Optimized the modification curve of the cycloidal gear to enhance tooth surface contact strength.

2. Increased the preload force of the output flange support bearing.

3. Adopted a heat treatment process for materials with higher yield strength.

The improved RV reducer achieved a 10% increase in rigidity, enabling AtomRobot to overcome the high-speed, high-precision bottleneck. As a result, the market share of their new-generation handling robots has increased. Over three years of collaboration, cumulative shipments have exceeded 8,000 units.
